Alana Reid

Alana Reid's practice focuses on life sciences and healthcare regulatory, compliance, policy, and litigation matters. She counsels pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, clinical laboratories, hospital systems, providers, and trade associations, with particular concentration in government price reporting, market access strategy and contracting, and fraud and abuse compliance. Alana also helps clients develop public policy strategies, including comments on proposed regulations, and supports internal investigations and compliance reviews across a range of subject areas.

In the government pricing space, Alana provides day-to-day counsel to pharmaceutical manufacturers on price reporting compliance under the Medicaid Drug Rebate Program, Medicare Average Sales Price program, and other federal healthcare programs. Her work includes developing price reporting policies and reasonable assumptions, as well as advocacy before the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and other regulators on complex pricing issues. She also advises manufacturers on 340B Drug Pricing Program compliance obligations, audits, and litigation strategy. Additionally, Alana counsels clients on obligations under the Inflation Reduction Act's Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program, including preparing for negotiations and facilitating access to the Maximum Fair Price.

Alana also advises clients on fraud and abuse compliance, including matters arising under the federal Anti-Kickback Statute and related laws, as well as Office of Inspector General Advisory Opinion requests. She counsels manufacturers on market access strategy, including contracting with stakeholders across the pharmaceutical supply chain and reimbursement channels.

Alana received her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she served as an Articles Editor of the Virginia Law Review and President of the Health Law Association. She received her B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University.
