Sarah Thompson focuses on general and complex commercial litigation, primarily representing clients in commercial contract disputes and intellectual property matters. She also has experience litigating issues of federal jurisdiction, constitutional law, and administrative law and procedure. Sarah litigates in state and federal courts and regularly handles all aspects of civil practice, including drafting pleadings, pre-trial discovery, and motion practice.
Sarah is deeply committed to pro bono work, handling cases including immigrants’ rights litigation, Section 1983 civil rights litigation, and direct representation of clients in administrative proceedings, including before the Executive Office for Immigration Review and the Social Security Administration.
Prior to joining the firm, Sarah served as a law clerk to Chief Judge Dolly M. Gee of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. She also practiced immigration and civil rights law at two national non-profits. Sarah earned her J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she was Senior Articles Editor for the Review of Law & Social Change and spent two years as a Student Advocate in the Immigrant Rights Clinic.
