Hydrogen Fuel Stations in California: A Practical Guide to Permitting and CEQA Review
After many years of R&D, automakers have refined hydrogen fuel technology to the point where they can produce commercially viable zero-emission cars powered by hydrogen fuel. The State of California and the federal government have launched a variety of initiatives to support the creation of a 'hydrogen highway'. Stakeholders from industry, academia, non-governmental organizations, and federal, state and local governments support the expansion of the hydrogen fuel supply infrastructure needed to sustain the nascent market for hydrogen fuel vehicles. California's Governor, the California Energy Commission, the California Air Resources Board, and the federal Department of Energy all have initiatives to promote the development of hydrogen fuel stations.
