Audioconference presentation slides are available for download by clicking here.

Recently, the President signed the "Medicare Prescription Drug Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003." This legislation creates a new voluntary prescription drug benefit in Medicare, reforms payment rules for Part B drugs, calls for issuance of Medicare-endorsed prescription drug cards, and includes many other provisions of interest to pharmaceutical manufacturers. Click here for a summary of the new legislation.

In response to numerous requests, we have scheduled a second free audioconference briefing on the new Medicare drug bill on January 6, 2004, 1:00pm to 2:30pm Eastern (the original was held on Friday, December 12). The audioconference will address the key provisions of the new legislation, with a focus on issues of interest to pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturers. Topics will include:

  • Functional Equivalence Standard

Speakers for the audioconference will included Dr. Grant Bagley, Rosemary Maxwell, John Bentivoglio, and Don Beers. The presentations will be followed by approximately 20-30 minutes of questions from the audience.
