Testimony before the American Bar Association Commission on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity

Paul Pompeo will testify before the American Bar Association Commission on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity at the ABA Annual Meeting in Chicago on July 31, 2009. Recognizing Arnold & Porter as a firm known for its commitment to LGBT issues and its healthy environment for LGBT lawyers and staff, the Commission asked Mr. Pompeo to testify about best practices for legal employers. Other panelists testifying on the subject include a partner from Jenner & Block and counsel for Chubb Group of Ins. The testimony is part of a morning-long Commission hearing on the subject of LGBT attorneys in the workplace. Mr. Pompeo will speak about those practices that have made Arnold & Porter an LGBT-friendly firm, including: commitment of leadership, visibility of Arnold & Porter LGBT attorneys, domestic partner benefits, recruitment, mentoring, the firm’s commitment to LGBT pro bono issues, community outreach, and recognition. Paul is a partner in the Government Contracts practice, serves on the Diversity Committee and  heads the LGBT Lawyers affinity group.
