Ethics CLE for In-House Counsel
December 8, 2011
Webinar
Changing rules, evolving professional challenges, and continuing legal education requirements require us to spend some time each year brushing up on our professional responsibilities. The Los Angeles and San Francisco members of Arnold & Porter LLP's Ethics Committee have put together a program for in-house counsel to do just that, right from their desks. The program comes just in time for California's upcoming CLE compliance deadline, although it will cover issues relevant to in-house counsel licensed in any jurisdiction and may qualify for CLE credit in other states. Topics of discussion, with a focus on in-house counsel's concerns and perspectives, will include:
- Recent changes to the California Rules of Professional Conduct
- Circumstances in which advance waiver of future conflicts is appropriate and enforceable
- Contacting former employees when litigation strikes
- Implementing litigation holds: the when, what, who and how
- Preservation obligations and the desire to avoid sanctions
- The ethical pitfalls of blogs and social media
