Presenting the Company Story: Developing an accurate account of company conduct and refuting plaintiff's "profits over people" theme
Typical of product liability litigation is an effort by plaintiff's counsel to distort company documents and testimony to present a "profits over people" story. There are a number of steps the company can take both prior to litigation and during it to prevent such distortion. This webinar will provide advice from experienced defense counsel, both outside an in-house on how to develop the affirmative company story, prevent the creation of poorly worded/easily distorted documents, and refute unfounded allegations from plaintiff's counsel. In addition, the webinar will include a judicial perspective on the impact in litigation of the "good versus bad" company story. Specifically, the webinar will address:
- How and why to develop a "Responsible Communications" program.
- How to develop and tell an affirmative story of appropriate company conduct.
- How to address potentially damaged company documents and unfortunate deposition testimony.
- How best to overcome bias against corporate defendants.
