Pari Mody counsels clients on legal and public policy matters related to healthcare and U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulated products, including pharmaceuticals and medical devices.

Pari represents a wide range of clients, including manufacturers, trade associations, and nonprofit research foundations. She has experience navigating the legislative and regulatory processes, drafting legislative language, preparing comment letters, and developing and implementing legislative and regulatory strategies for individual clients and coalitions.

Pari has worked on significant healthcare legislation and subsequent agency implementation, including with respect to the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, Food and Drug Omnibus Reform Act of 2022, 21st Century Cures Act, and COVID-19 stimulus legislation.

Prior to joining the firm, Pari was an associate at another international law firm and worked as a researcher at the Johns Hopkins University and the University of Pennsylvania.

Experience

  • Advise pharmaceutical manufacturers on implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, including drafting comment letters, direct agency engagement, and business strategies.
  • Draft legislation and comments for manufacturers to federal agencies on issues including prescription drug pricing reforms, the 340B Drug Pricing Program, and pharmacy benefit managers.
  • Counsel manufacturers on diagnostic test reform, including legislative strategies related to the VALID Act.
  • Represented pharmaceutical manufacturers in Congressional investigations and oversight hearings related to drug pricing.
  • Two pro bono research and patient advocacy foundations in securing the introduction of bicameral, bipartisan legislation to authorize increased federal funding for research dedicated to a specific disease.
