Louer, Rizzo Quoted in Law360 on Energy Policy and Litigation to Watch in 2022

January 6, 2022

Energy senior counsel Sandra Rizzo and Legislative managing director Greg Louer were quoted in a recent article from Law360, “Energy Policy To Watch In 2022.” The article discusses the potential energy policy priorities for both the Biden Administration and Congress in the upcoming year, with Louer predicting that the latter will “return to a focus on the appropriations process and oversight process” as opposed to a big-ticket bill.

In the same article, Rizzo comments on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s (FERC) process for revamping its power transmission rules to build out a grid that can accommodate increasing amounts of renewable energy. Rizzo highlights recent agency actions that seem to indicate a push for more concrete planning proposals.

Rizzo was also quoted in a related piece from Law360, “Energy Litigation To Watch In 2022.” The article discusses energy litigation landscape for 2022, with Rizzo commenting on an appellate court challenge against FERC over the removal of a rule requiring renewable energy sources to meet a price floor.
