Norberg Quoted in Law360 on Recent SEC Whistleblower Settlement
Securities and Enforcement Litigation partner Jane Norberg was quoted in a recent article from Law360, “SEC Fines Brink’s For Whistleblower Limits in Employee Pacts.” The article discusses the recent settlement between the SEC and The Brink’s Co. that required Brink’s to pay a $400,000 settlement after the company failed to include rights for whistleblowers to provide information to the SEC.
Norberg, who served as Chief of the Office of the Whistleblower at the SEC prior to joining Arnold & Porter, noted that the settlement illustrates the SEC will continue to focus on reviewing language that impedes reporting to the SEC. She went on to say that, in light of this settlement, companies should take the time now to review employee documents across the organization to ensure they include proper carve-outs for reporting to the SEC.
