Perkins Quoted in Law360 on Bipartisan Data Privacy Bill

Privacy, Cybersecurity & Data Strategy counsel Nancy Perkins was quoted in the recent Law360 article, “House Panel Advances Data Privacy Bill, With Changes Ahead.” The article discusses the recently introduced bipartisan data privacy bill which was passed by the Consumer Protection and Commerce Subcommittee of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
Perkins said that the bill stands a greater chance of advancement than previously introduced federal privacy bills due to its provisions on federal preemption and multiple channels for enforcement, but still faces a steep uphill battle in achieving enactment.
