Geverola Quoted in The Wall Street Journal on Price-Fixing Trial

Antitrust Partner Andre Geverola was quoted in a recent article in The Wall Street Journal, “Justice Department Fails for Third Time to Convict Chicken Executives in Price-Fixing Trial.” The article discusses the third attempt to convict five executives accused of conspiring to fix prices for broiler chickens. After two hung juries, the defendants were acquitted in the third trial. Geverola said the Department of Justice knew this case would be an uphill battle, but continued the prosecution in an effort to deter other companies and executives from anticompetitive conduct.
