Israel Quoted in Law360 on Inflation Reduction Act

Brian Israel, chair of the firm’s Environmental practice, was quoted in the recent Law360 article, “With Dem Bill, BigLaw Braces For A Clean Energy Hiring Spree.” The article discusses the expectation that the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act will result in a higher demand for clean energy attorneys.

Israel told Law360 Pulse, “We've been advising clients on climate-related issues for at least the last five years as companies have been focused on these issues, but there's no doubt that this bill will greatly accelerate the ability of companies to explore all sorts of technologies to reduce emissions and transform to a low-carbon economy.” He also said he foresees young associates coming into law practice with some experience in climate change and energy policy under their belts already, whether through previous jobs at nongovernmental organizations, companies, or consulting firms. "It's particularly exciting when you have someone graduate law school and have 10 years of experience working for the [U.S.] Department of Energy or five years as a consultant," Israel said. "That's a force multiplier because you're training people and learning from them at the same time."
