Jeffress Quoted in Law360 on DOJ’s Corporate Criminal Enforcement Policies Reform

Amy Jeffress, co-chair of the firm’s White Collar Defense & Investigations practice, was quoted in the recent Law360 article, “Overseas & Out Of Time: DOJ Reforms Boost Cross-Border Risk.” The article focuses on major DOJ policy updates, specifically the expansion of its Foreign Corrupt Practices Act Unit. The story also discusses how businesses will have to navigate the new policies and foreign privacy laws, such as reporting if foreign privacy laws are slowing down investigations.

Jeffress noted that the credibility of companies and their attorneys will play a big role in proving that they are not using data privacy laws as a shield. She also discussed the need for companies to work the DOJ to come up with solutions around foreign privacy laws.
