Shenkman and Pickerill Quoted in Inside EPA on EJ Analysis Clarification

Environmental partner Ethan Shenkman and associate Samuel Pickerill were quoted in the Inside EPA article, "Attorney, States Seek EPA Clarification On EJ Requirements For CCS." The article discusses the Biden administration's push toward climate goals and legal questions around environmental justice as it relates to carbon capture and storage (CCS).

Shenkman stated that he believes "everyone needs more guidance from EPA and from state regulators as to the scope of EJ analysis that has to be conducted and whether it needs to include some consideration of upstream, indirect effects at the source of the emissions as opposed to the site of sequestration."

Pickerill spoke about Texas' advancements in CCS and other related technologies, making it a leader in the industry.
