Rhee Quoted in Bloomberg Law on Export Control Prosecutions

White Collar Defense & Investigations partner and head of the Anti-Corruption practice Soo-Mi Rhee was quoted in the Bloomberg Law article, "Russia Fuels US Prosecutor Hiring for Tough-to-Find Export Cases." The story discusses how the DOJ aims to increase export cases related to Russia's illegal export of sensitive technology as part of a broader effort to reduce illicit exports to countries deemed threats to national security. To aid these efforts, the DOJ is seeking voluntary disclosures from companies.

Rhee noted that although these disclosures are critical for building a pipeline of investigations, companies have historically only disclosed to regulatory agencies, and it will take time for them to adapt to disclosing to the DOJ simultaneously.
