FDA’s Warning on Nitrous Abuse Highlights Regulatory Gaps, Howard Sklamberg Tells InvestigativeTV
Howard Sklamberg, Life Sciences & Healthcare Regulatory partner and former top enforcement official at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), was featured in the InvestigativeTV article, “Threats to Our Youth: Legal Loopholes Leave Young People Vulnerable to Deadly Drug.” The article investigates the growing dangers of recreational nitrous oxide use and the legal loopholes that enable its widespread availability.
Sklamberg commented on the FDA’s public advisory issued in March, which warned against inhaling nitrous oxide, describing it as “a common move when the agency becomes aware of problematic trends with a particular product.” He emphasized that such communications are important tools for the agency to “say to people, ‘Now wait. Stop. This is important.’”
