Arnold & Porter Named One of The "Best Law Firms For Women"

In First-Ever List Published By Working Mother Magazine and Flex-Time Lawyers

Washington, D.C., August 14, 2007 - Arnold & Porter LLP has been named to the first-ever list of "Best Law Firms for Women" published by Working Mother magazine and Flex-Time Lawyers LLC.  The list honors 50 winning law firms for their commitment to work/life balance and the retention and advancement of female talent.

Profiled in the August/September issue of Working Mother magazine, Arnold & Porter is recognized for a creating an environment that encourages the advancement of women through innovative programs and policies that help female attorneys achieve a balance in their personal and professional lives, and thrive as practitioners.

Arnold & Porter has been at the forefront of initiatives at law firms that are designed to help women, and working parents, achieve successful careers, including part-time schedules, flexible working schedules, and generous leave policies for maternity, parental and adoption.  Arnold & Porter was the first law firm in the country to establish a full-time on-site children's center, which has been an award-winning model for childcare.

Working Mother named Arnold & Porter to its annual "100 Best Companies for Working Mothers" on seven occasions, including the past three years.  In 2004 and 2005, Arnold & Porter was the only law firm to make the list.  In 2007, the Great Place to Work Institute, which compiles FORTUNE's "100 Best Companies to Work For" list, gave Arnold & Porter an award for its inclusiveness and comprehensive diversity initiatives.  Out of five organizations in the country to receive this award, Arnold & Porter was the only law firm.

To apply for the "Best Law Firms for Women," Arnold & Porter provided detailed information on the retention and promotion of women lawyers in six measured areas: workforce profile, benefits and compensation, parental leave, childcare, flexibility, and retention and advancement of women.  The application and evaluation process was developed in a partnership by Working Mother magazine and Flex-Time Lawyers LLC and based on Working Mother's annual "100 Best Companies" list.
