Arnold & Porter Partner Lisa Blatt Named to The National Law Journal's 2013 List of 100 Most Influential Lawyers in America

March 26, 2013

Washington, D.C., March 27, 2013 --Arnold & Porter partner Lisa Blatt was recently named to The National Law Journal's 2013 list of 100 Most Influential Lawyers in America, recognizing the 100 practicing attorneys who are making the biggest impact in the legal world.  The NLJ's list includes lawyers in the U.S. who have "reshaped the legal world through their work in the courtroom, at the negotiating table, in the classroom, or on Capitol Hill."

According to the newspaper, Ms. Blatt "has set records-and high standards-as a top advocate before the U.S. Supreme Court."  Among other things, the NLJ noted, Ms. Blatt has argued 30 cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, as many as any woman attorney at this point.  Moreover, she is expected to argue two additional cases this year.  The newspaper also recognized Ms. Blatt for a "no-nonsense style and intense preparation."

The NLJ chose its latest closely-watched list, last published in 2006, based on a public record since then of having "shaped the legal world through their work in the courtroom, at the negotiating table, in the classroom or on Capitol Hill."  Its editorial staff also selected what it called "top performers" based on five perceived qualities: "political clout, legal results, media penetration, business credibility, and thought leadership."
