Pres. Luis Guillermo Solís of the Republic of Costa Rica Discusses Investment and Trade Opportunities at Arnold & Porter

New York, New York, September 29, 2014 -- Arnold & Porter LLP and the Costa Rican Investment Promotion Agency (CINDE) recently organized and hosted an informational meeting on important trade and investment issues with the President of the Republic of Costa Rica, the Honorable Luis Guillermo Solís, and other senior members of his Cabinet during their visit to New York City to attend the United Nations General Assembly meetings.  The event was held September 22 at Arnold & Porter's New York office and attracted senior executives from banking, real estate, and hospitality corporations.

Among other issues, President Solís discussed his Administration's plans for furthering the economic development and expanding investment opportunities in Costa Rica as a regional economic hub.  He also addressed bilateral U.S. - Costa Rican relations. The senior members in attendance at the meeting included the Minister of Foreign Trade and Commerce, the Honorable Alexander Mora,  the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Honorable Manuel Gonzalez, and the Chairman of the Board of the Costa Rican Investment Promotion Agency (CINDE), Mr. José Rossi, among other members of the official presidential delegation that accompanied President Solís during his visit.

This event was a part of Arnold & Porter's Thought Leaders of Latin America Series, which presents influential individuals sharing their insights and leading thoughtful discussions on current and future business, political, and financial trends in Latin America.  Previous speakers have included President Álvaro Colom Caballeros of Guatemala and former President of Peru, Alejandro Toledo.
