Arnold & Porter's London Office Participates in the Social Mobility Business Partnership

August 6, 2018

Arnold & Porter's London office welcomed seven students London Officeaged 17-18 from London state-funded schools Westminster Kingsway College and Hampstead School to gain work experience in its London office.

Arnold & Porter is among more than 100 organizations and 17 law firms to participate in this year's Social Mobility Business Partnership (SMBP), a charity dedicated to supporting students from low income backgrounds in their pursuit of a career as a legal or finance professional.

Arnold & Porter was one of the first four law firms to participate in the SMBP at its inception in 2014. The program has this year expanded to include accountancy firms for the first time. It brings professional services firms and their clients together with professional bodies, social mobility experts, and professional sports clubs to deliver week-long, work insight programs for students and ongoing career coaching.

Richard Dickinson, the London office-based Arnold & Porter partner who leads the firm's involvement in the SMBP initiative, said:

"This is part of our firm's commitment to investing in our community, and supporting young people from all backgrounds in gaining experience in the world of law, as well as in an office environment generally. The program provides them with insight into the skills that can make them more employable."
