Arnold & Porter Senior International Policy Advisor Thomas A. Shannon, Jr. Elected Co-Chair of the Inter-American Dialogue's Board of Directors

Ambassador Thomas A. Shannon, Jr., Senior International Policy Advisor at Arnold & Porter, was elected Co-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Inter-American Dialogue on October 30. The Inter-American Dialogue is an independent forum that strives to shape policy debate and bolster cooperation in the Western Hemisphere. Ambassador Shannon, who co-heads the firm's Global Law and Public Policy practice and provides strategic counsel across a range of legislative, foreign policy, and national security issues, will co-chair with former Costa Rican President Laura Chinchilla. They replace longstanding co-chairs, Ernesto Zedillo, the former President of Mexico, and US Trade Representative Carla Hills.

Board members are tasked with shaping the agenda that the Dialogue addresses, while also selecting candidates for membership to the forum, and shaping institutional development strategies. The board of directors is made up of distinguished individuals that provide diverse political and professional perspectives from Latin America, the Caribbean, Canada, and the US.
