Daily Journal Names Arnold & Porter Partners Reis, Amar to 2020 'Top Labor & Employment Lawyers' List

Arnold & Porter partners David Reis and Dipanwita Deb Amar were named to the Daily Journal's 2020 list of "Top Labor & Employment Lawyers." The annual supplement profiles California's "top lawyers advocating for workers and employers" and spotlights their practices.

In the supplement, Daily Journal notes that both Reis and Amar have recently focused on employment disputes that have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Reis, who heads the firm's Labor & Employment practice, is highlighted for advising hospitals on safety in the workplace and the effects of a pandemic emergency on collective bargaining. Amar, who usually focuses on cases involving discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination and whistleblower claims, is highlighted for her advice to employers about work stoppages and work-at-home protocols. Both have advised employers on navigating the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which requires employers to provide employees with paid sick leave or expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19.

Reis has been named to the list ten times since 2010. Amar has been named to the list seven times since 2012.
