National Law Journal Names Jeffress, Kracov to Inaugural 2020 'Washington, DC Trailblazers' List

September 1, 2020

The National Law Journal named Arnold & Porter partners Amy Jeffress and Daniel Kracov to its inaugural list of "Washington, DC Trailblazers." The special supplement profiles individuals who have "made significant marks on the practice, policy and technological advancement of their practice."

Jeffress, who co-chairs the firm's White Collar Defense & Investigations practice, has a caseload that the National Law Journal calls "routinely remarkable." Jeffress told the National Law Journal that a government career specializing in national security matters prepared her for high-profile matters that include representing former White House counsel. "There are many talented former prosecutors in private practice. There are not many former prosecutors who have extensive national security experience, and there are very few who have worked in an embassy and have worked daily with authorities overseas," she said.

In its profile of Kracov, co-chair of the firm's Life Sciences & Healthcare Regulatory practice, the National Law Journal highlighted Kracov's recent work advising clients developing COVID-19 vaccines and treatments. He attributes his ability to advise in times of crisis to a career of working on regulatory and compliance issues in the life sciences arena. "If you really, really understand how things are supposed to be regulated and how they work and what's in compliance and what's not, when you get hit by a curveball like this, you're in a much better position to advise clients on how to adapt," he said.
