Data Protection and Privacy Counsel James Castro-Edwards Joins Arnold & Porter in London
LONDON, September 13, 2021 — Arnold & Porter announced today that James Castro-Edwards has joined the firm’s Privacy, Cybersecurity & Data Strategy group as Counsel, resident in London.
Kathleen Harris, head of Arnold & Porter’s London office and co-chair of the firm’s Anti-Corruption practice, said: “James’s arrival will help us continue to meet the growing critical demand for global data protection and privacy advice in the UK. Mr. Castro-Edwards manages global data protection compliance projects for multinational companies, advises on data protection issues, and helps companies respond to data breach situations. Mr. Castro-Edwards represents private equity funds, media and technology organizations, and medical device and pharmaceutical companies. In addition to advising clients on data protection issues, Mr. Castro-Edwards has created innovative data protection support, audit and training programs to serve clients’ growing needs.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Castro-Edwards was in private practice and served as a Solicitor in the data protection group at PwC Legal.
Mr. Castro-Edwards earned his JD from Queen Mary University of London and qualified at Japanese investment bank Mizuho International in 2004.
