Macdonald Recognized as a 2021 Law Week Colorado ‘Lawyer of the Year’

December 21, 2021

Arnold & Porter partner Timothy Macdonald, who heads the firm's Denver office, has been named as a 2021 "Lawyer of the Year" by Law Week Colorado. Macdonald is one of three attorneys included in Law Week Colorado's "Lawyers of the Year" feature, which profiles attorneys who "stand out" for "the legal excellence they displayed and the battles they fought" during the previous year.

"Due to the uncertainties of the pandemic, 2021 has been a tumultuous year for many," Macdonald told Law Week Colorado. "People were required to confront professional and personal challenges. The adversity also provided a meaningful opportunity for inspired growth at home and in the community."

Law Week Colorado highlighted Macdonald's substantial pro bono work, including multiple cases he worked on that are "at the heart of today's important public policy debates."

"I think it's an obligation all of us have as lawyers, and as humans, to give back to our community, particularly those of us who are privileged and fortunate enough to work in law firms and have the opportunity to represent folks that are disadvantaged," Macdonald said.

Macdonald is an experienced litigator whose practice focuses on complex civil trials and appeals. He has far-ranging appellate experience, pursuing and defending appeals in the Colorado Supreme Court, the Colorado Court of Appeals, the Federal Circuit, First Circuit, Second Circuit, Eighth Circuit, Ninth Circuit, Tenth Circuit, DC Circuit, and other state supreme courts.
