Sonja Nesbit Joins Arnold & Porter’s Legislative & Public Policy Practice

Arnold & Porter announced today that Sonja Nesbit has joined the firm’s Legislative & Public Policy practice as senior policy advisor, resident in Washington, DC.

Ms. Nesbit’s arrival bolsters Arnold & Porter’s expanding healthcare advocacy practice, bringing more than 20 years of experience helping clients leverage opportunities with the federal government. A Capitol Hill veteran and former Obama Administration official, Ms. Nesbit advises on legislative, regulatory, congressional oversight, and strategic communications in the healthcare and life sciences sectors. Ms. Nesbit previously served as Deputy Staff Director to a House Ways and Means Subcommittee, and as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Legislation at the US Department of Health and Human Services, where she managed legislative portfolios for the Food and Drug Administration, Centers for Disease Control, Health Resources and Services Administration, National Institutes of Health, Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response, the Administration for Children and Families, and the Indian Health Services.

Prior to joining Arnold & Porter, Ms. Nesbit served as a Managing Director in the Strategic Communications segment of FTI Consulting, where she focused on the healthcare and life sciences sectors.

Ms. Nesbit earned her MPA in Public Administration from the University of Connecticut and her BA from Virginia Commonwealth University.
