Blanchard Selected to O'Connor Justice Prize Advisory Board

Charles Blanchard, a partner in Arnold & Porter’s Government Contracts & National Security practice, recently was appointed to the distinguished advisory board of The O'Connor Justice Prize, presented by The Sandra Day O'Connor Institute for American Democracy. The annual award recognizes outstanding individuals who have made exceptional contributions toward democracy, justice, and civic engagement in the United States.

In this role, Blanchard will work closely with a diverse, accomplished group from various fields, including law, business, education, and public service, to select this year’s winner after identifying and evaluating candidates who exemplify fairness, integrity, and impartiality—values that Justice Sandra Day O'Connor embodied throughout her distinguished legal career.

The O'Connor Justice Prize seeks to inspire and promote a commitment to civility and equality within the legal system and beyond by honoring those who embody these values. It has been awarded to such preeminent figures as the Honorable Louise Arbour (Retired Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada and former United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights), Judge Elizabeth Odio Benito (President of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights), Nadia Murad (co-recipient of the 2018 Nobel Peace Prize), and President Jimmy Carter.
