Daily Journal Names Deborah Fishman to 2024 ‘Top Intellectual Property Lawyers’ List

May 22, 2024

Arnold & Porter partner Deborah Fishman was again named to the Daily Journal’s list of “Top Intellectual Property Lawyers.” The yearly announcement recognizes California’s standout intellectual property lawyers “working in patent litigation, trademark and copyright.”

Daily Journal’s profile of Fishman especially noted her role in the landmark Amgen v. Sanofi case in which Fishman and the Arnold & Porter team managed to invalidate Amgen's patents in post-trial proceedings in a victory that was not only upheld on appeal to the Federal Circuit, but also affirmed unanimously by the Supreme Court. The publication pointed out how her “strategic legal mind and her ability to navigate complex patent litigation have made her a formidable figure in the legal field.”

Fishman focuses her practice on intellectual property, with a particular emphasis on biopharmaceutical and medical device patent litigation. Her clients routinely highlight her strategic case management and vast expertise, and her peers view her as a thought-leader in the life sciences IP litigation field, in which she serves as Editor-In-Chief of ABA’s Patent Litigation Strategies Handbook — where she has co-authored chapters on biotechnology and biosimilar patent litigation — and on the Sedona Conference’s Steering Committee for Patent Litigation Best Practices Working Group.

This is the third time that Fishman has been named to this list.
