The International Women's Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation Recognizes Rosa Evergreen as a 2025 ‘Woman of the Year in Restructuring’

April 24, 2025

Arnold & Porter partner Rosa Evergreen received the 2025 “Woman of the Year in Restructuring” Award from the International Women's Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) on April 24, 2025. This award recognizes outstanding women in the restructuring industry, focusing on their contributions over the past two years.

IWIRC honored Evergreen for her recent representation of tenants in the Marbury Plaza apartment complex. Leading Arnold & Porter’s pro bono team and working alongside co-counsel Legal Aid DC, Evergreen secured a significant settlement agreement after extensive negotiations, marking a milestone in residents’ ongoing battle for improved conditions at the 674-unit complex. The settlement agreement provides, among other things, that approximately 80 tenants facing eviction are eligible to have their cases dismissed, approximately 240 tenants involved in bankruptcy proceedings will receive financial compensation, and all tenants will retain their rent credits and security deposits following the property’s transfer to the new owner. As part of this award, Evergreen was also acknowledged for her mentorship and training of associates in these cases, showcasing exceptional leadership in managing her teams.

Evergreen said: “I am honored and humbled to receive the Woman of the Year award. IWIRC has played a meaningful role in my career, starting from my early associate days. It has provided me mentorship, professional development, and friendships that helped me hone my skills as a restructuring lawyer, mentor, and leader. It is a true honor to be recognized and selected by IWIRC for this award.”

With extensive experience in bankruptcy and restructuring, Evergreen has been recognized by leading legal publications as “tenacious," having “great creativity,” and an “effective and strategic lawyer.” As chair of the firm’s Associate Professional Development Committee, she also continues to mentor and train the next generation of lawyers, fostering the same spirit of guidance and leadership that has shaped her own career.
