Our Real Estate Litigation team consists of experienced trial lawyers who have successfully represented real estate owners, lenders and developers, and investors, including high-end funds with real estate investments, in avoiding and resolving disputes. We have handled cases in courts and alternative dispute resolution forums throughout the United States, and before the major international tribunals. We bring particular experience in matters involving valuation issues, complex lease structures, development agreements, management and franchise agreements, fraud, fiduciary duties, accounting and cost allocations, as well as joint venture matters.

  • Britannia Pacific Properties as lead counsel in litigation involving corporate cost-allocation and central office overhead charges that resulted in the successful termination and transition of a luxury resort operated by Ritz-Carlton in Palm Beach, Florida.
  • Trustee, management company and certain beneficiaries of Trust in litigation regarding the ownership and control of a Manhattan apartment building and a Queens storefront that was owned by 200+ beneficiaries as tenants-in-common.
  • High-end national grocery retailer in successfully resolving a dispute involving the leasing of historic property in Georgetown.
  • High-end real estate investment fund in the confidential arbitration and negotiation of performance termination rights concerning a portfolio of managed properties across the United States.
  • Owners of a private beachfront property in the East Hamptons who had been joined in an action to quiet title to a portion of the beach. We represented the only homeowners who successfully demonstrated title to their portion of the beach.
  • Commercial office building owners in three separate transfer and recordation tax disputes against the District of Columbia.
