Nancy Perkins ejerce en litigios, cumplimiento normativo y consultoría sobre temas de política emergentes, con un enfoque principal en la privacidad y seguridad de los datos. Entre otras leyes, la Dra. Perkins a menudo asesora en relación con las leyes de Portabilidad y Responsabilidad del Seguro Médico (HIPAA), de Salud para la Salud y la Salud Clínica, de  Gramm-Leach-Bliley, de Fair Credit Reporting, Federal de Protección de la Privacidad de los Niños y de Protección de la Privacidad de los Vídeos, así como las leyes estatales de privacidad, seguridad, notificación de violación de datos y firma electrónica.

Cuenta además con amplia experiencia en Derecho internacional y asesora a los clientes en materia de transferencias transfronterizas de datos personales, en particular con arreglo a la Directiva de Protección de Datos de la Unión Europea y la Ley de Protección de Datos Personales y Documentos Electrónicos de Canadá, así como cuestiones más amplias que surgen en el marco creciente de la protección jurídica de la información personal a nivel mundial.

Sirvió como secretaria del juez Eugene H. Nickerson de la Corte de Distrito para el Distrito Este de Nueva York de 1987 a 1988. Egresó en 1987 de la Escuela de Derecho de Harvard, donde fue redactora de la Harvard Law Review y el Harvard International Law Journal.
