Brendan Clegg represents national and state-chartered banks, credit unions, and financial services providers in a variety of regulatory, transactional, licensing, and enforcement matters before the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Federal Reserve Board, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, the National Credit Union Administration, and state banking regulators and attorneys general.

Brendan assists clients with preparing and submitting applications to regulators for approval of a range of novel and complex transactions and activities, including mergers and acquisitions. He advises financial services companies on an array of safety and soundness, consumer compliance, BSA/AML, risk management, and corporate governance matters.

Brendan provides strategic advice on regulatory interactions and examinations, and counsels boards and management on corrective actions to address supervisory findings and criticism. Brendan also represents banks and non-banks, as well as their directors and officers, in enforcement actions, administrative proceedings, and investigations initiated by state and federal agencies.

Before his career in private practice, Brendan served as an attorney in the OCC’s Enforcement Division.
