Dr. Ryan Douglas' practice supports patent prosecution, both nationally and internationally. He has experience in plant biology, plant breeding, agriculture biotechnology, genetics, molecular biology, cell biology, developmental biology, neurobiology, epigenetics, and bioinformatics. Ryan also has extensive experience counseling clients utilizing genome editing technologies (e.g., CRISPR) and small RNA-related technologies.
Ryan received his Ph.D. from Cornell University in Plant Biology where he studied the role of small RNAs in leaf development. Before joining the firm, he completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Missouri where he studied centromere biology in plants.
He has published his research in several peer-reviewed journals, including Plant Cell, Plant Physiology, Chromosome Research, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), and G3.
