With a nearly two decades-long focus on commercial leasing, Alex Hallett provides counsel and advice on a broad spectrum of real estate matters, including development, purchases and sales, ground leasing, mortgage and mezzanine financings, hospitality, and due diligence. In the leasing realm, Alex represents landlords and tenants in office, retail, laboratory/life sciences, warehouse, and other commercial transactions, collectively totaling millions of square feet. He negotiates workouts of defaulted leases and assists clients with self-help and judicial foreclosure remedies, including negotiations with taxing authorities and secured creditors of defaulted tenants.

Alex has represented clients in the Landlord Tenant Branch of the D.C. Superior Court, including serving as lead attorney at a bench trial. He also performs real estate due diligence for national corporate mergers and acquisitions and regularly negotiates small- and medium-sized office leases for nonprofit, corporate, and pro bono clients.
