Raj Patel is a seasoned intellectual property attorney who helps clients navigate all phases of complex patent disputes. Raj manages the day-to-day aspects for high-stakes litigation matters and has obtained successful results in various district courts, as well as before the International Trade Commission, U.S. Patent Office, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection. A trained engineer, Raj has a versatile technical background, with a particular focus on electrical, electro-mechanical, computer, and software spaces. His practice spans a broad array of applications, including internet and cloud-based technologies, data compression and transmission systems, telecommunication equipment, mobile devices, power control systems, IoT and building control systems, and AI and machine learning applications.

In addition to his patent litigation practice, Raj has counseling experience, advising both small start-ups and global corporations seeking to strategically develop and manage their patent portfolios in the U.S. and internationally. Raj received his J.D. at The University of Iowa College of Law, where he served as Vice President of the Intellectual Property Law Society and was a member of the lowa Law Review.

Prior to law school, Raj was a senior engineer at a global engineering firm, where he performed design analysis in a variety of technical areas, including telecommunication equipment, GPS devices, lighting systems, motor-operated appliances, electric fence controllers, and software controls.
