Katie is an associate in Arnold & Porter's Labor and Employment group. She represents employers against claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour law violations, and state law torts. Her litigation experience extends through all stages of the case, including corporate investigations of harassment, discrimination, and similar workplace misconduct, advising on prelawsuit demands and employee departures, and traditional civil litigation. She has handled a wide range of employment matters, including relating to restrictive covenants (including non-competition agreements, non-solicitation agreements, and similar issues relating to employee departures).
Katie graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif from the University of California, San Francisco College of the Law (fka University of California, Hastings). She was also recognized as a member of the Thurston Society for academic achievement.
While in law school, she served on the Hastings Law Journal as a Notes Editor and was selected to publish her Note titled "From the Schoolhouse Gate to the Locker Room Door: The Student-Athlete's Constitutional Right to Protest at a Public University Does Not Stop at the Hardwood." As a student, Katie externed for the Honorable Charles R. Breyer of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, for the Oakland Athletics In-House Counsel, and for Open Door Legal, a San Francisco Non-Profit.
