Sustainability and the Role of Companies—A Conversation with Evan Van Hook, Chief Sustainability Officer of Honeywell

At this year’s annual Israeli Law and Environment Conference, Brian D. Israel, Chair of Arnold & Porter’s Environmental Practice Group, discussed corporate sustainability with Evan van Hook, the Chief Sustainability Officer at Honeywell. In this engaging presentation, Evan discusses his philosophy of corporate responsibility and how the role of a company has changed since Milton Friedman declared 50 years ago that a company’s sole purpose was to maximize shareholder value. Evan also describes Honeywell’s commitment to sustainability including efforts to reduce scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions.
