WEBCAST: Consumer Products: Avoiding the Crossfire Between State and Federal Regulation
March 16, 2010
In recent years, state legislatures and regulatory agencies have taken a more active role in regulating consumer products as varied as light fixtures, mattresses, candy, jewelry, auto parts, toys, and antiperspirants. At the same time, federal agencies, such as the Consumer Product Safety Commission, are becoming more active. Manufacturers and retailers alike must attend to increasing differences among these requirements, with potentially expensive consequences. This seminar will review major new requirements, provide an update on California Proposition 65, and discuss practical approaches to compliance.
