During this webinar, the seventeenth in our Policymaker Speaker Series, US Representative Elaine Luria (D-VA) joined members of our Legislative & Public Policy team, various clients and friends to discuss the Congressional response to the COVID-19 pandemic; massive unemployment; business closures across the country; and widespread protests against systemic racism, the police and historic economic inequality.

Representative Luria is a member of the House Armed Services and Veterans' Affairs committees, leads the Veterans' Affairs Subcommittee on Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs, and is Vice Chair of the Armed Services Subcommittee on Seapower and Projection Forces.

About the Series

The federal government is intervening in unprecedented ways in every sector of the American economy as Congress and the White House respond to the impact of COVID-19. Yet, at this critical moment, the realities of social distancing have made it more challenging to communicate directly with policymakers who want to understand how this crisis has harmed industries and businesses across the country. Arnold & Porter's Policymaker Speaker Series provides the opportunity for our clients to engage in interactive conversations with key national leaders and decisionmakers on these and related topics.

Subscribe to our Coronavirus (COVID-19) mailing list to register for the next installment of this series and other upcoming webinars, and to receive our latest client Advisories.
