Skinner Featured in Washington Lawyer on Pro Bono Service

March 4, 2021

Corporate & Finance partner Darren Skinner was featured in a recent article from the Washington Lawyer, "Reaping the Rewards of Paying It Forward." The article highlights Skinner's pro bono work, citing the firm's "give-back" culture and history of volunteerism as influential factors in his decision to join Arnold & Porter as a summer associate over two decades ago. "I really wanted my formative years as a lawyer to be at the best training ground. The bigger the foundation, the taller the tower," says Skinner.

Skinner also discusses the unique challenges of providing pro bono legal services during a pandemic, and how technology has helped him continue to serve those in need. On his continued passion for service, Skinner "[feels] the obligation to pay [it] forward" and encourages other attorneys to get involved.

Skinner, who focuses his practice on corporate and securities matters, has represented private and sovereign clients in the United States, Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia in connection with a variety of capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, and business structuring and formation transactions. Skinner serves as Co-General Counsel of the firm, as co-chair of the firm's Hiring Committee, and as a member of the firm's Management Committee.
