Fleishhacker Quoted in Law360 on the 2022 Legal Industry Landscape

Arnold & Porter co-managing partner Ellen Kaye Fleishhacker was quoted in a recent Law360 article about legal industry trends to track in 2022. The article features law firm leaders discussing the continuing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on law firm functions, attorney well-being and retention, and hybrid work environments.

In the article, Fleishhacker highlights Arnold & Porter’s efforts to maximize the benefits of working remotely as well as from the office. The firm’s Remote Work Options Policy allows employees to work 50% of their time in the office each month, allowing for 50% remote work. Last year, the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance recognized the firm’s inclusive hybrid working initiatives at its “Flex Impact Awards.”

“We want to give people actionable tips about ways to make being in the office really valuable," Fleishhacker said to Law360. The firm’s award-winning initiatives are supplemented by trainings for lawyers and professional staff to optimize their work environments.

Fleishhacker also emphasizes the significance of employee well-being and safety in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Law360 projects that these areas will continue to be a top priority for law firm leaders to address.

"As we go into 2022, we want to make sure that our attorneys, our professional staff, take some time to rest, tend to their own well-being," Fleishhacker said. "We all collectively need to heal from the stress and trauma of the past couple of years and of the pandemic."
