Geverola Quoted in GCR on Reduction of DOJ Fines

Antitrust partner Andre Geverola was quoted in the recent Global Competition Review article, “DOJ prosecutions on the rise, but fines plummet.” The story discusses a report showing that, while the Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division’s criminal prosecutions are higher than ever, the amount of corresponding financial penalties has dropped, especially compared to years prior.

Geverola noted that, “Although effective enforcement is not measured by numbers alone, enforcers can achieve greater deterrence by demonstrating significant penalties for violations.”
