Recent DOJ Appointments A Watershed Moment

Deborah Curtis, White Collar Defense & Investigations partner, was recently quoted in the Law360 article, “NY Fed. Prosecutor To Lead DOJ Corporate Enforcement Unit.” The article discusses the U.S. Department of Justice's National Security Division’s appointment of Ian C. Richardson and Christian J. Nauvel to its agency group that focuses on corporate enforcement. Following the intensified intersection of national security concerns and corporate crime, both Richardson and Nauvel will handle prosecutions and investigations related to this intersection.

Curtis, former Deputy General Counsel for the CIA and the former Deputy Chief for Export Control and Sanctions at the National Security Division, referred to the appointments as a “watershed moment,” adding that “companies in every sector who engage in cross-border transactions should consult a team of white-collar defense and national security experts who have extensive government enforcement experience.”
