Fund Lawyer Richard Chen Joins Arnold & Porter In New York
New York, February 12, 2009 -- Arnold & Porter LLP announced today that fund lawyer Richard Chen has joined the firm as counsel in New York. Mr. Chen advises hedge fund and private equity fund sponsors on regulatory and compliance matters, fund formation, investment product structuring, service provider arrangements and other matters.
"Richard has considerable background in hedge fund and private equity fund formation, as well as with regulatory and compliance issues in the field," said Mike Griffin, senior hedge fund partner in Arnold & Porter's New York office. "His direct, hands-on experience in this competitive area complements our existing funds practice. He will be a strong asset to our team as we assist our clients during a critical time in the industry."

Mr. Chen's experience includes representing investment advisers and broker-dealers in SEC and FINRA examinations and enforcement proceedings, drafting compliance manuals, conducting compliance audits and guiding clients through the investment adviser registration process. His experience also includes advising public and private companies and investment firms on corporate governance and compliance issues under federal and state securities laws. Mr. Chen is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School.
