Joel Greenberg Quoted in Reuters DealZone on Settlement Between Dow Chemical Co. and Rohm and Haas Co.

Joel I. Greenberg, Partner and Co-Chair of the Corporate & Finance Department, was quoted in the March 10, 2009 Reuters DealZone article, "Dow vs. Rohm: First Round Knockout?" The article discusses the recent settlement between Dow Chemical Co. and Rohm and Haas Co. in their dispute over Dow's over $15 billion takeover of Rohm and Haas Co. "I don't think [Dow] had anything really," Mr. Greenberg said. "You look at the merger agreement and what we know about Delaware case law, and Dow was in a pretty tough position." He went on to say that Dow "managed to squeeze some extra liquidity for itself through the settlement, and maybe that alone makes going through the motions on litigation worthwhile."
