Senior Policy and Legislative Advisor David Pore Joins Arnold & Porter
Former Legislative Director for U.S. Congressman Jim Turner Brings Extensive Experience in Legislative Matters and Congressional Investigations
Washington, DC, July 1, 2009 -- Arnold & Porter LLP announced today that David Pore has joined the firm's Washington office as a senior policy and legislative advisor. Mr. Pore, who served as legislative director for former U.S. Congressman Jim Turner, brings extensive legislative experience from his prior senior staff positions on the Hill and from private industry.

Since Mr. Turner joined Arnold & Porter in 2005, the firm has consistently been named to Legal Times' "Influence 50," a list of the country's top lobbying firms.
Prior to joining Arnold & Porter, Mr. Pore was an attorney in private practice in Austin, Texas (2004-2009), at a firm co-founded by former Congressman Kent Hance, where he represented trade associations, businesses, local governments, and economic development groups in state and federal legislative and regulatory matters. Mr. Pore was a government relations attorney for the Association of Texas Professional Educators (2002-2004), and served as legislative director (1999-2002) for U.S. Congressman Jim Turner (House of Representatives, Texas, 2nd District), advising on policy matters; supervising legislative aides, assistants and interns; drafting legislation; working with agency officials; and leading policy staff meetings for members of the Blue Dog Coalition. Mr. Pore also served as a legislative aide to Texas State Representative Tom Uher, and as an adjunct professor of government at Austin Community College in Austin, Texas.
