Andrew Varner Joins Arnold & Porter's Corporate Practice In Washington, DC

Washington, DC, October 4, 2010 -- Arnold & Porter LLP announced that Andrew Varner has joined the corporate and securities practice as a partner in Washington, DC. Mr. Varner represents private equity funds and corporate clients in a variety of matters related to mergers and acquisitions, and corporate finance and securities.

"Andrew has demonstrated leadership in major private equity and other corporate transactions, and his experience complements that of our transactional and regulatory lawyers throughout the firm," said Steven Kaplan, head of Arnold & Porter's corporate and securities group. Mr. Varner has advised clients on a wide variety of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, leveraged buyouts, and joint ventures. He has worked with clients in the financial services, technology, entertainment and media, real estate, and consumer products industries, among others. His corporate finance and securities experience includes registered public equity offerings, venture capital financings, and corporate restructurings. He also advises on corporate governance, SEC compliance matters, and securities disclosure issues. Mr. Varner graduated with honors from the University of Chicago Law School. In 2007, Mr. Varner was named a "Young Gun" by Washington Business Journal in its "Top Washington Lawyers" issue.
