Kaye Scholer Represents Real Estate Investment Arm of Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec on a Commitment in Blackstone Real Estate Fund
February 29, 2012
Kaye Scholer advised Ivanhoe Cambridge, the real estate investment group of Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, a global investor and one of the largest institutional fund managers in Canada and North America, on a commitment in Blackstone Real Estate Partners VII. L.P. In addition to negotiating a detailed side letter to address many issues that are important to non-U.S. government pension funds, various parallel investment vehicles were created in order to maximize the tax benefits to our client in investing in a fund that will own various types of real estate assets. Partners Jeff Scheine, Timothy Spangler, Ken Mason, Counsel Patrick Michel and Associate Susan Rhee assisted in this transaction.
