April 30, 2012

Washington, DC, April 26, 2012 -- Three Arnold & Porter partners from each of the firm's California offices have been named to the Daily Journal's Top Intellectual Property Lawyers List. The Daily Journal is the largest legal newspaper in California. Ronald L. Johnston (Los Angeles) and Marty Glick (San Francisco) were both named to the Top 75 Intellectual Property Litigators list, while Ginger R. Dreger (San Francisco/Silicon Valley) was named to the Top 25 Intellectual Property Portfolio Managers list. In naming Johnston to the list of lauded IP litigators, the Daily Journal noted his six years of litigation work for client, VeriSign Inc., in a "case that raised "fundamental questions of first impression regarding international Internet governance." For Marty Glick, the Daily Journal discussed his trademark work on behalf of Amazon, in a matter versus Apple that is set for trial in August 2013. Glick's representation of UK-based Datel Holdings Ltd. and its U.S. subsidiary in a lawsuit against Microsoft Corp was also discussed. Ginger Dreger was named for her work with Genentech, Inc., where she represents the company with the prosecution of patent portfolios and defense of its patents, covering important therapeutic drug products, against challenges by third parties.
